BETHANY LUDWICK

A passion for travel

A lifelong New Englander, Bethany began renting villas on St. Barths in 1984. After earning a degree in Hospitality Management from Endicott College, she pursued a career in hospitality, which allowed her to work from various locations. Following success in hotel management, she returned to her beloved Newport, RI, and joined the Newport-based villa rental company Wimco. As the exclusive representative of St. Barths' only villa rental company—Sibarth—Wimco and Sibarth pioneered tourism on the island. Bethany learned the business from Brook Lacour of Sibarth and Tim Warburton of Wimco. Over the years, she navigated challenges such as hurricanes, 9/11, the 2008 financial crisis, and the separation of Wimco and Sibarth. Despite these changes, the most rewarding part of her career has been her long-term clients, some of whom she has worked with for decades.

When Wimco was sold in December 2021, Bethany began a new chapter with Propco St. Barths, owned by her longtime friend Valerie Calderon. Bethany joined in August 2022, bringing decades of expertise from a time when villas had no phones, televisions, or air-conditioning, and Cheval Blanc Isle de France, Guanahani, and Le Carl Gustaf had yet to be built. She has witnessed St. Barths' transformation and continues to guide her clients to unforgettable vacations.

Between trips to St. Barths, Bethany spends summers in Boothbay Harbor, ME, and winters in Hilton Head, SC, with her husband, Jon, their bernedoodle, Shatzi, and their cat, Marbles.

“Every corner of St. Barths whispers luxury, but with a laid-back charm you can’t find anywhere else”
